Build a payment and payout backend from scratch to securely handle tuition payments for student sessions and automate employee compensation. It required a custom Stripe integration with embedded payment elements, and it had to meet SOC 2 compliance.

How a session payment becomes a coach payout.
The payment infrastructure uses Stripe's embedded payment element to process tuition payments from students buying coaching sessions. Each transaction runs through a custom backend that validates the payment intent, captures funds, and calculates employee payouts automatically from session rates.
The whole system is SOC 2 certified to protect sensitive financial data. Coaches connect their own bank accounts and receive reliable payouts, which makes for a marketplace both students and educators can trust.
What We Built
Dash Academy now has a fully functional payment and payout system covering the entire transaction lifecycle, from a student's purchase to an employee's compensation. It processes payments at scale while staying SOC 2 compliant, which gives students and coaches confidence in every transaction.
With 30+ coaches onboarded and 200+ transactions processed, the system has proven its reliability and scale. The backend is built to grow, supporting new features and rising transaction volume as the platform expands.
